Trainer Profile
Todd Rawiller
Todd rode professionally from the age of 17 and rode for 18 months before increasing weight ended his career as a jockey. At the age of 18 Todd felt this was the perfect time to travel before making any decisions on what career path he'd next take. He travelled to Japan where he rode work and broke in horses for Shadai Farm.
On his return to Australia, Todd took up a position with Tony Noonan at Mornington as a track rider for 2 years and then moved to Flemington where he took up ringing work for Brian Mayfield-Smith for the next 2 years.
Being raised in Bendigo Todd decided to return to his home town and started to break horses in and also was employed by Racing victoria as a barrier attendant. With both his Father and Uncle being trainers it was enevitable that Todd would take the same path into training.
In 2001 Todd took out his licence to train and had success immediately with his first runner Dark Enough who saluted at Swan Hill, ridden by his brother Brad. In 2004 Todd had much greater success with a horse called Chiack. Chiack had 33 starts for 8 wins, 7 seconds and 3 thirds. He also ran 2nd in the ATA/Hoysted Listed race at Sandown and then ran 2nd in the Wangoom at Warrnambool. Of his 8 wins, 4 were in the metropolitan area and he collected a total of $258,395 for his owners.
